When it comes to gas fireplaces in Evergreen and Conifer, Colorado and the surrounding areas, local homeowners know they can count on Ponderosa Heating and Air-Conditioning for quality service and results. Our heating contractors specialize in gas fireplace repairs and maintenance work, which isn't a standard heating service for this area. Working with gas fireplaces, especially in higher altitude areas, requires a specific skill set and the experience to know how to get the job done right given the unique needs of homes in higher elevation settings. At Ponderosa Heating and Air-Conditioning, we have what it takes to get the job done right.
Our goal is to get gas fireplaces operating at peak efficiency at higher elevations. At altitude, gas fireplaces and furnaces can be prone to different problems due to gas derating. They also face issues related to burning and pressure due to the fact that the air is thinner, so there is less oxygen available for use in the combustion process. Our team has the experience, skills and tools to take care of these issues, and ensure our customers get the services they need.
Rest assured we won't try to sell you products or services that are not necessary. With Ponderosa Heating and Air-Conditioning, not every problem with a gas fireplace is going to require an expensive repair invoice. In fact, most gas fireplace problems can be remedied by having the system serviced periodically by one of our seasoned professionals. We'll clean and check your fireplace to ensure its operating with overall efficiency, for both your comfort and safety. We care about our customers, and want to ensure you get the most fairly priced service we can offer. To learn more about what we can do for your gas fireplace, give us a call today!
Gas Fireplace Service & Repair
Being a mechanical appliance, your gas fireplace does require occasional maintenance. Direct vent units constantly draw outdoor air into the burn chamber. Even when the pilot is burning. Particulates can accumulate as ash in the pilot burner. Over a period of time, this will restrict the gas flow. The most common complaint is that the main burner will not ignite while the pilot is burning. Restricted gas flow causes a weakened pilot flame, not allowing an adequate millivolt charge to be created.
Our gas fireplace service includes removal and cleaning of the fireplace glass and a visual inspection of the gasket material. We will remove the log kit, clean and inspect the burner. Most importantly, we disassemble and clean the pilot assembly and pilot orifice. Once the pilot is reassembled and lit, we check the millivolt readings on the pilot generator during each cycle of operation. If everything checks out, the glass is put back into position. A carbon monoxide and gas leak test is completed to ensure the unit is operating safely. Direct spark ignition or IPI systems operate on a different principal but still need to be disassembled and cleaned.
